I have a multi-dimensional background in education, fitness, business, and counseling. This background helps me relate to clients with diverse life experiences. I graduated from the University of Dayton with a BA in English and Secondary Education.
As an undergraduate, I also attended Loyola University's Rome Center for my junior year aboard. I taught literacy and art for three years and then owned and operated a successful travel business for 10 years. I attained a master's degree in counseling in 2005 from National Louis University. Upon course completion, I became licensed with the State of Illinois as an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor). After 2000 hours of supervision at Camelot Therapeutic Day School, I earned my LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor) certification.
In 2011 I went to work in private practice. I am trained in mindfulness and am certified in RRT, Rapid Resolution Therapy, a trauma-based form of clinical hypnosis. I am also a certified yoga instructor. My greatest life achievement is having raised three adult sons to become self-aware, kind and empathetic human beings.
